Television

Animated

In January of 1966, Batman made his first television appearance on ABC's thrilling new Batman series. It showcased a zany cast of Batman's most well known villains as well as some newcomers, and although was during a time where the fun, light-hearted take on the Caped Crusader was subsiding, this series took Batman's campiness and humor to its extremes. With countless celebrity cameos, and loads of adventure, Batman was a huge success and undoubtably helped put the character on the map of American pop culture. Even after its cancellation in 1968, episodes have been reran on stations like Family Channel and TV Land to this day.

It's notable that after the success of the hit '60s series, Batman has made little impact in the world of live action television. Nevertheless, the Caped Crusader has continued his role in TV through Onstar Commercials, a short lived Birds of Prey series, and even a CBS movie featuring TV's original Dynamic Duo in 2002. Though when asked about Batman's place on television, the average person today will more than likely refer to the BIFF's POW's and WHAM's of 1966.

Caleson, 01:37, 2011-12-26: Yeah, but with all the blank forum sections and dead links, there should be an explanation for new visitors. BYTB is like a construction site with no signs or caution tape.
admin, 21:51, 2011-12-06: I'm confused by your statement. We are upgrading the site to a Wiki based format therefore some section are new and updated, while others are still the old format.
Caleson, 20:12, 2011-12-04: There needs to be an easy to find explanation of the current changes on BYTB. I'm an administrator and even I'm confused.
KHRIS, 01:22, 2011-11-21: That will change soon enough.
